What We Do
*Instruction is available in personal aircraft*
Tail Wheel Endorsements
Tailwheel aircraft take backcountry flying to a new level. As you learn to fly our piper super cub on 35 inch bush wheels, you will become proficient and able to take yourself far beyond gravel runways. Northern Peaks Flight Training offers tailwheel courses to put you on track to becoming a capable backcountry pilot.
Alaskan Bush Training
With an experienced instructor, come explore areas of the last frontier that few have seen. From tundra covered ridge tops, to gravel bars braided across glacial rivers, you will understand why pilots are drawn to Alaska. You can bring your own piper aircraft for a multiple day adventure through the wilderness. Ty has many years of experience flying the Alaska backcountry. He will help you increase your confidence and skill level to help you safely enjoy all Alaska has to offer.
Ski Flight Instruction
Flying on skis comes with unique challenges. Varying from flat light conditions, reading snow levels, and identifying signs of overflow, you will acquire the skills needed to be a safe and efficient winter pilot in Alaska.
Private Pilot License
If you have decided to work towards your private pilot license, come learn from our skilled instructor, Ty! Our goal is to help you become a safe, disciplined and skilled pilot. With scheduling flexibility, we will make sure to provide the tools that you need to become a capable pilot. We have a PA-18 Super Cub or a Cessna 150 available for you to fly. Whether you are interested in pursuing a career in aviation, or you want to enjoy the Alaska backcountry to the fullest, we can get you started in enjoying all that aviation has to offer.
